Tips for Presenting your Home

It is important to prepare your home so that your property can be showcased in its best possible light. Nothing says "welcome" like a freshly cleared, neatly presented space. It doesn't need to be overwhelming or costly, simply focus on one room at a time and edit by taking away a few items, the result can be utterly gratifying!  

 

Here are some simple, practical tips to help you master the art of presentation!

 

KITCHEN

  • Clear bench tops of food, dish racks and cutting boards

  • Remove fridge magnets and other personal items from fridge

  • Remove dishwashing liquids, tea towels, soaps and plugs

  • Put away garbage bins, brooms, mops and cleaning products

  • A bowl of fresh fruit or a vase of flowers is a nice touch on the bench top

 

 

BATHROOM

  • Clear bench tops of toothbrushes, soaps, razors and plugs

  • Remove shampoos, soaps and cleaning products from showers

  • Remove rubbish bins, scales, bathmats and laundry baskets

  • Close toilet lids, remove toilet brush and spare toilet rolls

  • Clean all mirrors

  • Display fresh towels, folded or hung neatly

 

 

BEDROOMS

  • Clear away clothes, shoes and laundry baskets

  • Remove books, tissue boxes and jewellery from bedside tables

  • Remove portable fans, heaters and rubbish bins

  • Tidy up study desks, remove excess toys and posters

  • Make beds with your best bed linen and fluff pillows

 

 

INTERIOR

  • Remove pet bowls and eradicate smells with room deodoriser 

  • Clean windows, dust surfaces, vacuum and/or mop floors

  • Open curtains and blinds

  • Make sure all light bulbs are working 

  • Straighten tables and chairs, fluff and arrange cushions attractively

 

 

EXTERIOR

  • Move vehicles from driveway and front of house

  • Position wheelie-bin in a discrete area

  • Put away garden hoses, tools, toys and bikes

  • Remove pool toys, skimmers and creepy crawly pool cleaners

  • Ensure pets are safely contained or away from the property

  • Sweep/rake leaves and pathways and dust away cobwebs
